NEWCASTLE Water Police arrested a skipper who allegedly had a blood-alcohol reading of 0.149 during a boating safety campaign at the weekend.
Police and NSW Maritime Boating Safety Officers inspected 77 vessels as part of Operation Blue Water on Lake Macquarie.Three skippers received fines for not having sufficient safety equipment and three were given formal warnings.Police will continue the safety campaign over the summer in a bid to improve maritime safety.
